The Battle Net World Championship is one of the biggest tournaments in Starcraft 2 organized by Blizzard. There are several qualifying stages set in order to provide a global competition involving all the best players in the world to determine the world champion this year.
This global competition is divided into 4 stages: national qualifications, national finals, regional finals and finals. Each participating country will run qualifications and a national final to determine the players that will make it to the regional finals.
We will keep you updated with the stages of the tournament, last weekend the Polish, Belgian and Dutch national finals took place.
Polish National Finals
The competition was attended by Nerchio, DieStar, Mana, Tefel, Slider, Zazu, Yeldi and Forte; they played to try to get one of the two qualifying places for the European finals and a piece of the prize pool. In the end, it was Nerchio and Mana who won their spots to the next stage.
1st place - $4,000 : Nerchio
2nd place - $2,500 : Mana
3rd place - $1,200 : DieStar
Belgian National Finals
For Belgium, no Terran was present for the national finals and it's Orly who won, finishing ahead of ELVIS and Makouni. Unfortunately, we note the forfeit of Millenium player Feast.
1st place - $800 : Orly
2nd place - $500 : ELVIS
3rd place - $240 : Makouni
