UPDATE : We have receieved news that
Evil Geniuses will not be attending the Star Ladder StarSeries LAN Finals due to the expenses weighed against expected earnings. This means that a replacement team has to be found to complete the six finalists, which we assume will be
mTw with them being next in line according to table scores. We will update you when an official statement regarding the replacement team is made.
In a statement given by their captain
Jacob "Maelk" Toft-Andersen to joinDOTA, he had this to say :
"We were excited about attenting the LAN finals, but ultimately had to face reality and realize that the expenses of sending us to Kiev would by far supercede those of any possible winnings. Instead we have chosen to extend our bootcamp for The International 2 with an additional week.
Good luck to all the participants at StarLadder, and thanks to v1lat and Mr.Devil for an otherwise succesfully ran tournament. Was a pleasure to compete thus far!"
The second season of Star Ladder StarSeries has come to an end, online-wise. Six teams have qualified after the whole season plus extra tie-breaker matches have ended. Those 6 teams will now get to travel to Kiev to play in the StarSeries LAN Finals. The finals will be played some time later this month, exact date is yet to be announced.
The winners of last season's StarSeries LAN Finals were
Na`Vi, will they be able to do it again?
