Garena has recently announced the Garena Premier League (GPL), where 6 top teams from the Southeast Asian regions will come together and participate in a LAN tournament in Taipei,Taiwan. Players from each region are all paid and sponsored by Garena to play League of Legends professionally! With a huge prize pool of US $40,000, this is one of the biggest tournaments in the region to date, and we can expect many tense and exciting matches! Matches start on the 5th of May, and matches can be caught live here!

Statement from Lionel "Hammy" Lee, Manager of Team Singapore Sentinels:

Team Singapore Sentinels has been training hard for the Garena Premier League and I am quite sure that the team will end the season with a good showing and final standing. Through the GPL, I hope the team can continue to improve themselves, not just in their professionalism and gameplay, but also personal attitude and character.

We appreciate the invitation from GPL, and we are looking forward to participate in the tournament. We would like to develop our team, and our main goal  is to be in the top 2 at the GPL.

Update!

After several Intense matches, Taipei Assassins, led by top 10 NA solo queue ranked player bebeisadog, managed to edge out The Singapore Sentinels in the finals! They are the inaugural winners of the GPL!
